Memory In a Box

 If I could put any one of my many memories into a box that I would see in my dieing days, I would take the memories I have of after my first live performance. After our first performance I was definelty on a high from all the adrenaline that had to be pumping through my system at that moment. My friend Sam approached me and told me that the cast of the show would be meeting at the local Boston Pizza for some food and good company. I don't think i've ever felt more at home sitting inside a noisy restaurant filled with sports paraphernalia. Sitting there with these absolutely crazy theatre people, listening to the many conversations buzzing around my head, I realized that these are the people I want to spend my life around. These people are like my family. The times i've spent with this crowd are some of the best memories i've made. I learnt that night that these are the kinds of people I can relate to, the people who don't think my odd habits to be weird. They had the same odd habits, tapping their feet beneath school desks, finding themselves unable to stand still and letting their imaginations run wild.

If I could I would put all my memories of these people into this tiny box I would. They helped me decide who I would be in life, where I would go and what I would do. They helped me find my identity.

My Proudest Moment

  I believe that my proudest moment was the day I learned how to ride my bicycle without the training wheels. Up until that point I really hadn't done much in my life accomplishment wise for myself. It took me so long to finally start wobbling along on my own and there were so many times I wanted to just give up. I hated that it didn't come naturally to me, so I decided it must have been stupid or that I just didn't want to do it. My dad wouldn't let me give up though, he just told me to keep trying again and then he would help me up off the ground from where I had fallen. I was ecstatic after I had finally started to ride on my own. I had finally accomplished something worth accomplishing. It was the first thing I really had to work at to get, and it felt all the much better when I did after so much hard work.

            This is a link to the Vancouver public Library auditions listings. I may not be guided by this site specifically, but I will be guided by auditions listings sites in the future. I plan to go into a career of acting in theatre or to a lesser extent, television. These websites provide you with the information you need to know about upcoming auditions and shows. They tell you what people are looking for, how to contact them, what to bring, what they want, when the show or filming is, etc. I have used this site for a few years now and I have been in many more shows than I could have hoped to by just going by what I hear from other performers/ And I also have much more experience because of it.

        To be honest, I don't think this list could possibly be complete without google. Google.ca is the gateway to everything. It gives me the answers I need, finds me photos of far off places, and guides me to the sites that will help me along my way. Google  is a great way to find information .Just type a few simple words into a small outlined box and away you go. Off to the next website in question. I've used google for as long as I can remember surfing the internet.  It may not seem like that much time, but it has certainly felt like it.

My Mission Statement

 My mission statement is to never do anything with less than 100% that I can give. I've always been told by my parents to do my best and go full out all the time and everytime. Well i've decided to listen to them. I want to show everyone what I can really do, what i'm capable of. If I want to live life to the fullest I need to give it my all. If I decide I want to go to some exoctic country and only give it a half-assed attempt at getting plane tickets then what have I got to show for it? Another day of sitting around looking for something to do that might be exciting. If I try my hardest to save up some money to get tickets and set myself up on a plane and just go then i'll have stories to tell, experiences to share, and memories to keep.

Something I will probably never do

 Although I hate to admit, I will probably never go to a place such as Kenya.I've heard so many amazing things about the country from the people in my life who have visited it. I really would like to visit it, but I don't think i'd be able to convince myself to. Alongside the many tales of joyful children and fantastic sights, i've also heard of the many diseases and horrifying insects and animals that can reside there. I've always had a fear of bugs that bite. I think it may be linked to my allergy to spider and mosquito bites. Whenever I would visit a more forested area in BC I would always be swarmed by mosquitos. Well not literally, but I think you get the point. There was one time where I was bitten so much that I couldn't see properly out of my right eye. So i've worried to myself, if mosquitos here do that, what might mosquitos there do.

And then there's the spiders. Oh the spiders. I'm alright with them if they aren't very big, but when they're large it becomes a little more difficult to ignore. On top of that their are quite a few more poisonous spiders in Africa than there are in British Columbia.Something about them just didn't sit well with me.

Again, I would love to see the beautiful scenery and meet these fantastic folks everyone tells me about, but i'm to much of a chicken to go there.

5 things I would never do to another human being

1. I would never force somebody to do something they absolutely did not want to do. I know for a fact that I don't like to be forced to do things i'm uncomfortable with so why should I force others to do the same?

2. I would never try to steal something precious to a person. No matter how much in dire straits I may be in the financial department I will not be a thief. Especially to take something of sentimental value to someone.

3. I will not claim somebody else's work as my own. Firstly, it wouldn't feel proper to steal somebody's work, and secondly, it's completely immoral in my mind. I've never liked it when people do eachothers homework or let their partner do all the work in a large project so I will not do the same.

4. I will do my best not to completely sever my connections with someone. Although I may feel different about this after having a huge fight with a family member or good friend, I don't think it right to cut yourself off from someone. It really never helped to not talk to the other to try and help resolve a conflict.

5.  I would never dismiss someones opinion because it differs from mine. If I were to just stubbornly say no everytime my opinion was challenged by another I would never learn anything. And who knows what I might be doing to a persons self esteem should their ideas be shut down so readily. I could be making their life miserable without even knowing it.
